Austin Family Dentist
About our dentist
Dr. Bordovsky grew up in Karnes City, a small town in south Texas. He graduated from Karnes City High School, and enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BA in Biology in 1979. He then was accepted into the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1983.
He worked as an associate dentist in Austin until 1985, when he started his dental practice at the Mopac/2222 location.
Dr. Bordovsky served for many years as Dental Director for Caritas, which is now called the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic. He is a past president of the Austin Founders Lions club, which is the oldest Lions club in the world. He has been very active in his church, and is currently serving as President of the Austin Gem and Mineral Society.
Dr. Bordovsky has two boys, Travis (12), and Stefan (11). He spends most of his free time with the boys at school events, and outside activities. He helped with scouting activities when they were younger, and has spent innumerable hours on the soccer pitch, both as a coach, and now as a supportive parent ( since parents really aren't allowed on the pitch anymore).
His passion, outside career and family, is found in rocks and minerals. He started out innocently enough, collecting quartz during trips to Arkansas. His interests soon widened, and he assembled an extensive collection of fluorescent minerals from around the world. He also is intrigued by gem crystals in their natural state. His particular interests are in beryls, tourmalines, fluorites, and topaz.
He and his wife Cindy have been married for 22 years. The family loves animals, and count among their pets Emmanuel and Schatze (horses), Trajan (the Amazon parrot), Lacey and Brindle (dogs), Grace (the cat) and Theresa the bunny.
